About Robert W. Haerr M.D.
Dr. Haerr was born in Bozeman, Montana and raised in Livingston, Montana where his parents and brothers still live. He has two sisters who live in Wyoming. Dr. Haerr graduated from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska and from Creighton University School of Medicine. He was trained in internal medicine, medical oncology and hematology at the Naval Hospital in San Diego, California. He practiced medical oncology at the Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia for two years. He was trained in radiation oncology at Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine in Norfolk, Virginia and then practiced radiation oncology and was the director of the Radiation Oncology Division at Portsmouth Naval Hospital. Dr. Haerr joined Cancer Care Group in 1989 and has been the medical director at the Hux Cancer Center since it opened in December 1989. He retired from the U.S. Naval Reserve as a Captain in 1996.

Dr. Haerr is board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology, hematology and radiation oncology. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of the American College of Radiology, American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO), American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), American Society of Hematology, and the Indiana State Medical Society. He serves on several hospital committees and is a member of the board of directors of Union Hospital and The Union Hospital Foundation. He is the medical director of the Why Me of the Wabash Valley breast cancer support group and has served on the board of directors of the American Cancer Society in Terre Haute. Dr. Haerr is a member of Alpha Sigma Nu Jesuit Honor Society and the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He is a recipient of the Weinbaum Award for his contributions to Union Hospital.
Dr. Haerr and his wife, Marilyn, have two children who are presently attending graduate schools. In addition to his practice he enjoys stamp collecting, gardening and working at his farm near Marshall, Illinois.
